Stardew Valley Farm Planner
Plan your Stardew Valley farm on a grid: crops, sprinkler and scarecrow ranges, bee houses and buildings, with seed costs and a save code.
This Stardew Valley farm planner lets you lay out crops, sprinklers, scarecrows, bee houses, paths, fences and farm buildings on a tile grid. It shows which crops are watered and which are safe from crows. It also counts your items and seed cost, and gives you a code to save or share the layout. Sprinkler, scarecrow and bee house ranges follow the Stardew Valley wiki for version 1.6.
How to use the planner
- Choose a layout. Blank grid can be any size up to 120×100 tiles. Greenhouse is the exact 12×10 soil area with its wooden border. Standard Farm field is a blank 63×31 rectangle, which the wiki lists as the largest open area on the Standard Farm.
- Pick a tool, then click or drag on the grid. For crops, choose the crop. For sprinklers, choose the type and whether it has a Pressure Nozzle. For buildings, choose the building and click where its top-left corner should go.
- Use Erase to remove things and Undo to step back. On a phone, switch to Scroll to move around a large grid.
- Turn the sprinkler, scarecrow and bee house range overlays on or off.
- Check the summary. Crops with a red border are not watered, and crops with an orange corner have no scarecrow.
- Press Copy code to save the layout. Paste a code and press Load code to open it again.
The planner does not draw the real farm map with its trees, cliffs and water. The Standard Farm option is only a blank field of the right size.
Sprinkler coverage
| Sprinkler | Normal range | With Pressure Nozzle |
|---|---|---|
| Sprinkler | 4 tiles (up, down, left, right) | 3×3 (8 tiles) |
| Quality Sprinkler | 3×3 (8 tiles) | 5×5 (24 tiles) |
| Iridium Sprinkler | 5×5 (24 tiles) | 7×7 (48 tiles) |
Sprinklers water tilled soil every morning and never water their own tile. In the greenhouse you can put sprinklers on the wooden border. Four Iridium Sprinklers with Pressure Nozzles water all 120 tiles and use only 2 soil tiles, leaving room for 118 crops. You can build this layout in the planner and check it.
Scarecrow range
A Scarecrow protects a circle with a radius of 8 tiles: 249 tiles including its own. That is 8 tiles straight out in each direction and 6 tiles diagonally, a 17×17 square with 10 tiles missing from each corner. The Deluxe Scarecrow has twice the radius (16 tiles) and covers 888 tiles around it. Crows only eat crops when more than 15 crops are growing on the farm. They never appear in the greenhouse or on Ginger Island.
Bee houses
A Bee House makes flower honey when a fully grown flower is within 5 tiles in a diamond shape (60 tiles around it). In the planner, Blue Jazz, Tulip, Poppy, Summer Spangle, Sunflower and Fairy Rose count as flowers. The summary shows how many of your bee houses have a flower in range.

Frequently asked questions
How many crops does one Iridium Sprinkler water?
It waters 24 crops in a 5×5 square around it, or 48 in a 7×7 square with a Pressure Nozzle. Like every sprinkler, it never waters its own tile.
What is the best sprinkler layout for the greenhouse?
Four Iridium Sprinklers with Pressure Nozzles water all 120 soil tiles and take up only 2 of them, leaving room for 118 crops. Sprinklers can also go on the greenhouse's wooden border. Build the layout on the Greenhouse grid to check it.
How far does a scarecrow reach in Stardew Valley?
A Scarecrow reaches 8 tiles in a straight line and 6 tiles diagonally, protecting 248 tiles plus its own. A Deluxe Scarecrow has twice the radius, 16 tiles.
Do I need scarecrows in the greenhouse?
No. Crows never attack greenhouse or Ginger Island crops. On the farm itself, they only eat crops when more than 15 crops are growing.
How big is the Stardew Valley greenhouse?
Its soil area is 12×10 tiles, or 120 tiles, with a wooden border around it. On the farm, the building takes up 7×6 tiles. Choose the Greenhouse layout to plan it at the exact size.
Where is my farm layout saved?
Only in the code. The planner can't store anything in your browser, so copy the code and keep it somewhere before you close the page.
